Vian was only nine years old when ISIS attacked the Yazidi homeland in Sinjar in 2014. Separated from her family, she spent three years in captivity, enduring unimaginable hardship after being sold between captors and forced to live without freedom.
Despite the trauma she experienced, Vian survived. Her courage and determination carried her through one of the darkest periods in her life and allowed her to rebuild her future.
Today, Vian lives in Wagga Wagga, Australia, where she is creating a new life while continuing to raise awareness about the Yazidi genocide. By sharing her story, she honors the victims, supports fellow survivors, and reminds the world that justice and recognition for the Yazidi people remain essential.
Vian’s journey is not only a story of suffering but also one of resilience, hope, and the strength of the human spirit.
