The Yazidi community in Australia has experienced significant growth since 2014, primarily due to humanitarian efforts following the persecution of Yazidis in Iraq and Syria. Many have resettled in regional areas, including Coffs Harbour, Toowoomba, and Armidale. Toowoomba, in particular, is noted for having the largest Yazidi population in Australia, with their Kurdish dialect being the city's second-most spoken language.
